Oxyfix® (5 to 600PE) is a World-Class submerged fixed-film biofilm Wastewater Treatment Technology. Designed for situations for 5 to 600 people, Oxyfix® has been designed for residential and commercial premises located on properties with no access to sewer mains for disposal of their wasterwater. Oxyfix® is the latest generation of compact sewage treatment units providing you with: easy installation, very low maintenance, noiseless, odorless and a complete below ground unit.
Second to none, the efficient and eco-friendly Oxyfix® offers one of the highest Wastewater purification process available on the market today. Oxyfix® will treat your Wastewater to meet the most rigorous local standards.
- Plug and Play System
- Low Maintenance
- No Smell, No Noise
- No Visual Impact (Fully Buried)
- Flood and Fire Resistance
- Gravity feeding instead of pumps to send the effluents through the different treatment stages, all the way to the final release.
- Very low maintenance cost with typical desludging frequency to be once every 4 years (given a normal domestic usage)
- Tertiary treatment options for water disinfection such as UV treatment for single dwelling and chlorination (chlorination has no extra cost)
- Oxyfix replaces septic tanks and grey water recycling systems all together: one house : one tank, no worries
How Does Oxyfix work?
Domestic wastewater flows into the Oxyfix® unit and is treated in three stages. Wastewater flows from one compartment to another.
1. Primary Settling Compartment
In this compartment water undergoes its first treatment where suspended solids settle at the bottom. Light matter floats to the surface forming a crust. Anaerobic digestion takes place whereby microorganisms break down biodegradable materials and liquids in the absence of oxygen. A vent pipe extending above the roof line eliminates any gas or odours generated. [/toggle]
2. Biological compartment
The pre-anaerobically digested sludge then overflows into the bioreactor. This compartment is filled with our Oxybee® fixed film biocarrier. Microorganisms adhere to the matrix of the Oxybee® to form a thin layer (biofilm). These microorganisms eat the organic matter in the sludge. Air is injected into the water providing enough oxygen for the microorganisms to thrive. Aerobic bacteria are more efficient than anaerobic bacteria; they breakdown the organic matter and nitrify ammonia.
3. Clarifier compartment
In this compartment any suspended solids carried over (detached layers of biofilms) settle at the bottom to be circulated back using an airlift or a pump from the settling cone into the primary settling compartment. Denitrification is initiated and carried through to the primary settling compartment to release Nitrogen, (an essential element to life on earth). An integrated sampling chamber has been designed to control the treated Wastewater. Clear water is released back into the environment.
